About The English Modern School Khor (EMS)
The English Modern School (EMS) was founded in 1991, financed, directed and privately owned by the Al Muftah Group, and independently managed by the Head of School.聽 The initial fundamental purpose of EMS was to create a school where both Qataris and expat children would learn English at a high standard preparing them for university education both in Qatar and abroad. EMS currently has three campuses and educates students from over 42 nationalities. EMS follows the Cambridge Programme from KG1 to Year 12 (EYFS, CIPP, IGCSE and AS Level).聽 The initial goal remains the same throughout its current three campuses, with an increasing emphasis on preparing students for the 21st Century.
In July of 2013, the MOEHE granted a KG1 through Year 12 license for the opening of the EMS campus in Khor. One of the main reasons it opened was to relieve the pressure caused by the high numbers of students applying to the EMS Doha branch. There was also a need for an international school in Khor that caters to English speaking students outside of the Qatar Petroleum, RasGas, and Dolphin Gas employees.
EMS Khor served 242 students KG鈥揧ear 9 in its first year, and this year has increased to over 600 students in KG1 鈥 Year 12.聽 We are moving closer to our licensed capacity of 650 and plan for moderate growth over the next few years.
At English Modern School we embrace internationalism through acceptance of differences, values, and beliefs in our community. This is emulated through our聽Cambridge Learner Attributes (CLAs).

I have worked at this school for a half a year but had to return due to personal reasons. However, I can 100% recommend this school for any teacher looking to work in Qatar. The SLT (admin) are amazing, understanding and helpful. In particular Mr Jaco. He provided support throughout my time there. Also Mr Darren provided quite a lot of support a person that was willing to listen and have a conversation a morale booster for sure. The science team were fantastic our Head of Department Ms Shejila ran an efficient team and was always available to answer questions. Watch out for Mr Lawrence the physics teacher you will instantly fall in love with his warm, kind and caring personality. Very helpful in providing support and material for physics I will have to mention Ms Rekha an asset to the team. Very highly organized and kept informing me of key dates to watch out for and an amazing teacher to be working alongside with in terms of planning of chemistry. Finally, I would like to mention the Science Technicians Ms Lina and Ms Khescen. I ordered a lot of practical equipment during the last week of the January mid term and they delivered everything and laid everything out in an amazing way. They also collected on time. The practical activities would have been impossible without them. In short EMS is true to its strap line "a place where we belong" I would highly recommend this place to anyone that wishes to work there. All of the science team and the teacher beyond the science team were welcoming. The students, in my experience were very well behaved and studios very keen to learn as well as being polite. They will be missed.

Firstly, let me start by saying that that whatever I am writing is not even close to everything in my mind cause I don't have time for that. Education is bad like bad bad, buts that's not the worst part. How they treat students in such a unfair way is what makes me hate the school. however I have been in this school since kg1. Its not as bad as people say but could be better. hope the school speaks to the students more to know what to improve in. Schools should aim for a close relationship with the students and that is rarely found here

Bad communication...arrogance and attitude from some staff... May be you have long waiting list because of the price not because of your quality of education; school should consider that when speaking to the new applicant. I applied online..phone call follow up for 3 weeks;staff keep telling me call after sometime. finally I catched miss Hanan over the phone, that time only she checked my docs, and she said missing docs.. we cannt proceed your application (after 3 weeks with phone call followup)...no one notified my and she said we cannot notify ppl..if the docs complete then we process the file into waiting list ( blas if we are dealing with robots and digital system)...

The school failed in the online teaching, the EMS Doha school management failed in managing the school during the pandemic of CORONA on all aspect.
