About Sierra Bernia School
Sierra Bernia School is a privately owned coeducational day school offering British education from 3 to 18 years to pupils of all nationalities. It was founded in 1973 and, as the longest established British School on the costa Blanca, it has become a leader in its field and very much respected within the community. Situated on the outskirts of Alfaz del Pi, an impressive village with a high foreign resident population, the school has easy access to the main Benidorm/Altea coast road and the motorway.
Pupils travel from as far as Javea, Moraira and Calpe to the north and Campello, San Juan and Alicante to the south. A coastal school bus service is provided between Calpe in the north and Benidorm in the south, stopping at various points en route. The school鈥檚 priority is to provide a happy working environment where children of all nationalities gain academic success.
As a 鈥淓uropean鈥 centre of education, integration amongst the multi-national and bilingual pupils on roll is encouraged, as is participation in local community events. In preparing pupils for life in the modern world where the cosmopolitan atmosphere found on the Costa Blanca makes great demands on young people, the school works towards the goal where pupils achieve their full potential, gaining ability to apply themselves to tasks with respect and consideration for others.

We are really impressed with how the school prepares the kids for the future. It鈥檚 not just about passing exams 鈥 they鈥檙e teaching critical thinking, problem-solving, and resilience, which is so important in today鈥檚 world.
We have noticed such a difference in our children since they started at Sierra Bernia. Their confidence has grown, and they鈥檙e doing so well in their studies. The teachers really invest in each child, which is so reassuring as a parent.
Is a very poor school. Virtually no native English teachers. Very unhelpful office people. Very rude and short in their manner. I saw electric cables hanging down the walls and the general appearance of the school is dismal. The class years 4,5,6 are in metal shipping containers, like this MAERSK ones. Secondary NO native English teachers. Avoid!

I do not recommend this school! The level of education is very poor, they are really cheap with supplies and trips, and the social environment is also quite poor. The Social Studies and Chem teacher can barely speak English and the Spanish teacher doesn't teach ANYTHING!! Also, the classes are way too small and there is no diversity. Your child may feel ostracized by the other children at the school, until they get used to the barbaric, food throwing community and become that way themselves. If you are reading this right now, I HIGHLY recommend that you do NOT go to this school because I ASSURE you that you WILL regret it. All of the above is based on pure facts (I went to this school myself for a little while). There is no good reason why you should even consider this school. The only nice person is the English teacher, but you can't go to a school just because of one teacher. Thank you for reading my review! :) - Anna Sylvie Barteck
