About Kiangsu & Chekiang School - 麻花视频 Section (KCIS)

At Kiangsu & Chekiang School - 麻花视频 Section (KCIS) we use the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum Guidance from the UK for our Kindergarten and Reception year groups, which together form the Foundation Classes. Our classrooms are hives of activity; play based and explorative activities provide an environment rich with opportunities for creativity and hands-on learning. Our Primary 1 children also have a creative element to their learning and The National Curriculum (England) is adapted for Hong Kong so that studies of local history and geography can be included.

Mandarin has a strong presence in both curriculums and is taught daily in all classes. Kiangsu & Chekiang School staff are dedicated to providing a holistic education and to developing talents and learning from life experiences. We have a very enthusiastic group of teachers, recruited from around the world, who have high expectations for all our students. Information Technology is integrated across all areas of our teaching.

All our classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards. We regularly update our IT facilities to provide for new advancing technology, classes from P1-P6 all have iPad access.

My daughter attended KCIS from kindergarten to grade 6. From personal experience, I will have to say school management is very poor. Head teacher and school management is rude and not receptive of parents' inputs. School facilities are old and lacking. We stayed until the end of primary year as tuition is reasonable here. I would highly recommend parents to consider other schools for secondary education. My daughter is now at a new school. She said "wow music classes actually be fun and educational, and can be more than just singing and singing, only to practice for assemblies."

Work load is very manageable but only because the school does just below the bare minimum to provide a service to the child. Management is rude, mean and vicious and act on personal grudges towards staff. There is no school or classroom budget and the facilities are falling apart. Learners pay a lot of money to come to the international section and see very little for it. Avoid at all costs as a teacher.

A former student from 2016-2020 since here, some teachers are horrendous, but some teachers are great, although they don't last very long in the school; some instead believe that students of the lowest class cheated on tests rather than actually trust their students who had spent efforts in their academics, and some rather not spend extra efforts in counselling students that struggle in the subject that they are teaching. The facilities, on the other hand, are as horrendous as well. Most of the facilities, including the toilets and the library, are very run down, the toilets are just downright disgusting, as if the school is ignoring the very hygiene of their students who had paid plenty to get into this school, most of the lockers are broken. The school refuses to look into it, not to mention that international section students suffer the most since most of our facilities were hand-me-downed by the local section in which the quality could be better. In contrast, the local sections get the most out of it. The food quality the canteen sells doesn't match the amount you paid for the tuition. At the same time, we international section students are not able to buy food from the outside not until we're in Year 12; on the other hand, the local section can go outside whenever they want no matter what grade they are in, it's almost as if the school itself is more biased towards the local section than the international section where parents pay more for the sake of their children's future in the hopes of learning English to go abroad and lead a better future. Despite being a very horrendous school, I have had many positive experiences here, meeting many people. I suggest that the international section should have more privileges than that of the local section, doesn't appreciate anything that they're given, and better the way of teaching, rather than having a teacher reading off the book while doing absolutely nothing when students are to discuss a topic and listen and give feedbacks to those who might be struggling that may not show it on the surface. TLDR: 麻花视频 section students should be given more privileges than local section students; studying here is not worth studying, and facilities should be improved. P.S. The daily items that the students use have to be carried around everywhere to class, which they also have to carry up and down the stairs, but they are not permitted to use the lift, so I suggest that the school implement a new lift for students.

This school is ok, but the facilities are ancient and rusty. Some teachers are good but some are bad. A math teacher literally played some random math videos and asked us to learn from there. three-quarters of the class failed the final exam because of him. The toilets are really bad, there was poop all over the toilet seat and a student from the local section tried to jump off the building through the toilet window. Primary is really good but secondary gets worse.

honestly, the place is pretty bad overall. The teachers are alright but some are power crazed and recently one of them actually got sexually harassed and some of the teachers who are also in high status with the students left as well. I have literally had times where there was poop on the floor and vomit on the toilets. The school in primary was good but now I'm secondary and this review is the main point of view from secondary, I've accidentally cut myself on tables, chairs, doors, and the railing. the sports equipment as well as the science equipment is old and the budget is very divided. The food is not to be trusted that much due to the staff and the old facilities that they use. People have recently been leaving because of secondary and I am thinking the same because of this schools situation with some classrooms having exposed rebar on the ceiling in some classrooms. This is what I remember now because I feel sick most likely from the mold growing on the walls by the stairs.

Been in this school for more than 10 years, I'd say the primary section is good but one in secondary it gets bad. One of the headteachers called my friend a tramp for wearing the wrong shoes despite saying that he has them in his locker and will change into them. The school has just deteriorated after the years, many students left and changed schools due to how poor the school is, many teachers left as well but I doubt for the same reasons, not to mention the toilets there are times in where there is poop on the toilet seat and not even a place in where toilet paper rolls are provided in the toilet or could be placed as it has been removed in a few floors. Also the fact the school is split among half international section and local section students, the local section students provide a bad example to the international students such as breaking the glass of classroom due to the door being locked and how our facilities are shared amongst them despite we paying more than local section kids do we don't get many more benefits. This school mainly cares about getting your money, even the food served in the canteen on multiple occasions due to soya sauce running out they mixed it together with water for students to use with their food. Even with the facilities in the playground the basketball hoops are without nets for years now and haven't been replaced since. However, I do admit there are a few good teachers, there was this one teacher who just didn't really teach students anything for the time she was there all she did was copy and paste notes from the textbook on to a PowerPoint and told us to copy it down for the whole lesson, as well as in a way telling the students to do her job for her telling students to do make a PowerPoint on separate topics in which no one has learnt yet and tells the students to teach topics to the class, that teacher is gone now thankfully for after complaints from students for the first year she was in the school they kept her around for a second year. For an international school as a whole, I wouldn't recommend sending in your child here for secondary school, as many of my friends who have gone to this school admit that it is a bad school compared to other international schools.

Studied in the school for 16 years, from kindergarten to graduating in the class of 2016 with the IB Certificate. The school is a tight knit school where everyone knows one another, class sizes are small with the maximum of 25 students per class. Number of students in this school vary from 300-350 (secondary section from Year 7 to Year 13). Very enjoyable and approachable teachers. Since it is a small school everyone will know one another and with this experience, head prefects are easily approachable even if you are in a younger year, as everyone is friendly.

Not a good school. Both international section and band 3 local section. 麻花视频 section has fired all the good teachers. and the local section has teachers who dont even act like they teach. they need lots of help and the campus is falling apart
