How would you rate Internationella Engelska Gymnasiet S枚dermalm (IEGS)?
My experience with IEGS has been very disappointing as I was so excited at the beginning. On the day of the open house, it seems like the perfect school. But truthfully, most students do not think it is a school worth going to. Many of the teachers at this school have PHDs which would make one think that they would make great teachers. That is certainly not the case. The teachers with PHD are the ones that are unable to properly teach as they do not know how to simplify the subjects. The way that the PHD teachers teach is as if this is a review course, not the first time being taught. Secondly, they like to say that students are being listened to and that their advice and opinion is taken into consideration. But this is not the case. During the 3 years that I went here, there were a lot of complaints. However, nothing was resolved. Teachers will just argue their way out. The school has also given students to read descriptive sex texts when the subject had nothing to do with it. Even though multiple students felt uncomfortable about the text, they were told that the teachers roles is to expose students to uncomfortable situations. Lastly the atmosphere is very discouraging. The teachers do not encourage their students and have even told the students to "give up". This is a generalization of the teachers however there were enough teachers who were like this to make it a problem.
I attended IEGS and, unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. Here's an honest review: 1. **Food:** The food is awful and almost inedible. It's hard to find something genuinely enjoyable or even decent to eat. Most students just go out to have lunch. 2. **Bathrooms:** The bathrooms are always disgusting鈥攍ike seriously bad. It's a real issue that doesn't seem to get addressed properly. Like one time in a King corridor bathroom, there was a used co**om.... (I wish this was a joke, it was in 2022 or 23) 3. **Social Atmosphere:** The social atmosphere is fine, but there is a clear segregation between IB students and Swedish system students. It's noticeable and affects the overall cohesion of the student body. 4. **Teachers:** While some teachers are really nice and teach well, many just don't seem to care. I can't speak for the Swedish program as I was in IB, but for IB students, it's a mixed bag. Some IB teachers are frequently absent, making it hard to rely on them for learning. I can safely say that everything I learned for my HL subjects was through YouTube and not from the teachers. 5. **Support:** The support seems skewed towards the high-achievers, the students who are already doing well and know most of the material. The rest of us often have to fend for ourselves, which is incredibly frustrating. Overall, my experience at IEGS left much to be desired. There are some positives, but the negatives are hard to overlook.
The school is truly 麻花视频 in spirit and way of teaching. Lots of different nationalities. The teachers are very good and they listen to the students' need, but at the same time the academic level is very high and demanding. Students learn knowledge but at the same time they learn to think independently and in a democratic way. My daughter attends the 2nd year of the drama course and she is extremely satisfied! Me too!
Just a great school in total. Made a lot of friends even when I stayed short. The teachers are kind to me and I got a academic award.
