Moving to a new country can be challenging, but ISS has made it an incredible experience! From day one, the team here has been absolutely amazing, providing unwavering support every step of the way. The entire school community is incredibly welcoming, making it so easy to feel at home. I'm truly grateful to have found out about this wonderful school 鈥� it鈥檚 been such a positive start to this new chapter in life!

This school is both innovative and traditional, it combines claasical and new progressive approach to teaching.

Great school with caring teachers. The schedule is very comprehensive in terms of classes, PE, art, music etc. My already bilingual children are learning English as their 3rd language at an astonishing speed. They go to/leave school happy and excited. For a new campus, they have grown at an exceptional rate. I don't feel like a foreigner but like part of a multicultural family.

Our family joined 麻花视频 Sharing School in November 2023 in the middle of the first term. We were a bit concerned about joining in the middle of the year but the integration could have not been easier. Our 4 kids integrated really well with the other students, there is a big diversity of nationalities and new students joining throughout the year, which makes it a lot easier for new students to integrate. We are very happy with the school and with the developments we have seen since we joined 8 months ago. 2 of our kids are attending the Summer Camp Program at the moment and we can see that they are already preparing new facilities for the new school year. Great to see that they are keeping their promises!

A lucky find! My family and I moved from Belgium 5 years ago with our two daughters. We had a hard time finding a school we liked in Portugal and didn't realize before moving how hard that would be. We first visited Sharing in 2020 and were welcomed by the founding family. We found it really nice that the founding family is so involved in the school management, shows how much they care about the school and its students. As a parent of 2, it is not easy to trust someone with your girls, however they made us feel very confortable and were very patient with us. Both girls are loving their time in Portugal and my husband and I have also build great relationships with the Sharing School Community (parents and teachers!). We love it and have recommended Sharing to all our friends moving to Portugal.

If you dig deep, you will surely notice that the founder, the CEO, the president, and the board members are one family. Can this system audit itself in case of failures? Does this system know how to repair itself? You decide for yourself. First of all, I suggest you check the teaching certificates of the teachers. Although they all have degrees. But according to the way they operate, in my opinion, they have no idea about education despite their desire. They will tell you fairy tales to get you to enrol the child, but in practice, they cannot stand behind their educational statements. In the last year, the school added many students beyond its capacity and caused poor learning conditions. Some students studied in a frozen basement during the winter. The school looks very beautiful, but it is a lot of beauty that hides chaos. Lack of teachers, too many students in classes, severe (verbal and physical) violence at school (they know how to hide it well), teachers encouraging students to whistle on each other, forceful and arrogant school administration (in middle school, and upper), confused pedagogical staff and not Coordinated, punishments for students from the last century. This was a huge mistake for us

I wish I had done more due diligence and not just gone off ISS鈥檚 great sales pitch. My advice would be to talk to parents at the senior school directly. Most people will only share their honest opinions about any school privately (the expat pages on social media). Having spent over a year at this school as a parent 鈥榦n the inside鈥�, working with other parents to try to effect change that never happened, I can tell you that the vast majority of the parents in my son鈥檚 grade (high school) are very unhappy and want to move to another school but can鈥檛 because of long waitlists. While the management always met with us parents to discuss our grievances, which we appreciated, nothing much ever came of it, which was intensely frustrating. Be aware that this school does not have a Principal, only a CEO 鈥� a setup that they consider 鈥渋nnovative鈥�. Unsurprisingly, not having an educational expert at the helm causes problems. As an example, if you take a tour, ask to see the subterranean classrooms they squeezed into the parking lot, which have no insulation or windows. These were installed over the summer and when the parents all flipped out, the school did pivot 鈥� much to their credit - by putting portables on the roof. Adding 3rd-world-level 鈥渃lassrooms鈥� at an expensive private school is the kind of decision that we all feel wouldn鈥檛 happen if there was a principal, with a background in education, and an understanding of what constitutes a conducive learning environment. If you can, ask parents in the DP years about how their students did on the exams. The information you get from parents will differ greatly from the official report. The public schools my children attended in the US were superior in terms of the education, resources, extracurriculars, engagement of the leadership. This place has a general feeling of chaos and 鈥渁mateur hour鈥� that never improved during our time. Some of my son鈥檚 teachers were good and clearly cared, though parents who have left ISS and sent their children to other IB schools in the area tell me the application of the IB at ISS is haphazard and inadequate by comparison. (We left for a Cambridge school, so I cannot speak to that, though I can say that my son is very academic and driven and spent most of his time at ISS incredibly frustrated and confused by the sense of chaos.) During our time, the morale amongst the teachers, students, and parents became increasingly low. Teachers became so frustrated by their work environment, that they were sharing this with their senior school students. It鈥檚 possible that these are growing pains, and down the road the senior school can improve. If you have a very young child and are willing to take the gamble, knowing you still have plenty of time to try to get into another school for the senior school, then it might be worth it. As the parent of an enthusiastic student who loves school and who is now thriving at another school, I only regret wasting so much time, energy, and money.

In some classes there are more than 20 pupils. The management cares only about money, but not about the quality. In the kindergarten and foundation there are problems with a hygiene, the majority of the teachers in kindergarten and foundation don鈥檛 know English or have very poor knowledge of it, behave totally careless for the small ones as they can鈥檛 say anything to the parents. Good teachers are leaving school because of the low salary, also they are hiring the staff without appropriate qualification, experience and English tests. The standards of this school are very poor for this money. Look at the reviews here, most of them are from the management, PYP coordinator and the founders.
