About Collège du Léman (CDL)
Over the last half-century, Collège Du Léman (CDL) has helped more than 20,000 alumni learn the value of openness, internationalism and co-operation. Collège Du Léman was created to meet the needs of a new world, in which ambition and a global perspective could take you to amazing places. In the late 1950s, Francis and Inge Clivaz saw a city that was becoming home to many international businesses and organisations. Geneva needed a school that could provide a truly international education for students from many different countries and a welcoming, safe atmosphere for students and parents alike.
Collège Du Léman opened in May 1960, on the site of a former school. Its peaceful location on the right bank of Lake Geneva placed it between the thriving city and the beautiful countryside. Collège Du Léman's commitment to global-mindedness enabled it to secure its first bilingual accreditation from the European Council of 黨Ƶ Schools (ECIS) and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools in 1978. Another accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges followed in 1998. It is now home to more than 1900 students and over 100 nationalities.

I think that it is a fantastic school that many people should strive to send there kids there. If they have the financial capability of course :)
The school offers boarding and is mostly a day school. By far, it is the worst school my child has attended. Curriculum is international but the standards are not high. A number of teacher turnovers, teachers who didn’t care and not well-trained teachers were at the school. My son was bullied and harassed - when reporting this teacher said “ I didn’t see so..” it was not addressed. The bullying was so bad that another kid broke his leg due to the bully chasing him on school grounds. If you want your child bullied, harassed and mocked for being a student of colour, by all means, enroll your child there. In our case, it was so bad and my child was mocked by another for speaking Chinese. We could not wait to get out. How the administration treats and addresses discrimination, bullying and harassment are very telling.
CDL is a great school and will get you to a lot of places. Although some things are just not it. Some teachers don’t teach enough and some teach too much and then give you insane amounts of homework to do afterwards.
My attendance at Le College du Leman was short lived due to my family’s traveling but it was in the early 60s One of my teachers was Mademoisel or Madam Negrini. It’s wonderful to see that it is still going strong. Congratulations
I graduated from CDL in 2021, I have completed all my high school years in CDL. It’s one of the best schools in the world.

Dedicated teachers who cultivate an interest and love for a specific subject, not merely teaching. My daughter has been there for the past year in middle school and is a happy balanced student.

I have three children at Collège du Léman and they are all incredibly happy - after several changes of country and school, they were able to settle into Collège du Léman quickly and easily and have made friends with children from a variety of countries.
