About Byron College
Byron College Athens was established in 1986 by a group of idealistic parents and teachers who believed that there was a need for a school in Athens that would provide a British Education that was egalitarian and inclusive and would pursue academic excellence whilst maintaining the highest standards of self-discipline, behaviour and community participation.
The pupil body is now just over 400 and is divided fairly equally between Primary and Secondary pupils. These pupils come from over 50 different national backgrounds but about half of our children are permanent residents of Greece.
The language of instruction is English and pupils follow programme of study that is essentially based on the UK National Curriculum. Given the nature of our pupil body we have a strong EAL section, attention is paid to the needs of our Greek parents, a range of modern languages is offered and the History and Geography syllabuses are designed to reflect the international character of our pupils and the obligation to produce citizens with an awareness of global challenges that our society faces.
Byron College is one School on one site and all children share the same day and the same school holidays. The school accepts children from the age of 3 and many stay with us until they leave to study at university, aged 18.

How would you rate Byron College?
The school is highly poor, Byron cannot seem to keep teachers with 7 leaving this year alone (this number is big due to the ting school). Their poor treatment of teachers inevitably causes teachers to leave, inevitably causing students to be left with covers who do not know what they re doing for month's on end. Their nursery is good, however I would not recommend anyone to go to the high school. Its terrible. Byron expects all parents to have the time to constantly come in for surprise meetings about problems the kids are causing which a) are not problematic or b) are un true, due to the school not hearing out the accused properly.
A PERFECT SCHOOL WITH PERFECT TEACHERS!!!!!!! ALL THE BEST TO MY FAMILY SCHOOL WICH IS BYRON!!!!
I would personally recommend Byron if someone is looking to enrol their child in a decent, top-notch school. Thank you Byron College.
This is undoubtedly one of the best British/international schools in Greece, and most probably in the surrounding areas. The warmth this school radiates is fabulous. Children love the atmosphere and everything about the curriculum in general. I would personally recommend Byron if someone is looking to enrol their child in a decent, top-notch school. Thank you Byron College.
Terrible school no real English teachers
The service is terrible, very unwelcome and ignorant.
Horrible facilities, horrible teachers, horrible leaders. I need say more??
This school is downright horrible. Most of the teachers barely know English, which leads to misunderstandings, and most pupils that come to the school because they only know ENGLISH and not Greek barely learn anything and get bad grades. Another thing is that they deal with problems very poorly, never hearing out students and only caring about the teachers and they brush past the students problems. They give a massive amount of homework on the weekends, and the teachers never stay committed to the homework days I will not stand for this. Do not recommend. Another thing is that they barely pay attention to the students mental health. Sure, they have programs and they always say to you that you should talk to them if you have any problems, or if you are being discriminated, but instead of helping they do absolutely nothing, or they just tell you to make them 'stop'. Do they really think that saying the word 'stop' will affect anything? This school is the representation of teachers and the board poorly running away from the students problems, and only focusing on the money that they make. Again, I do NOT recommend this poorly functioning school.
