How would you rate British School Muscat (BSM)?
Be very careful to enrol your child at BSM if it鈥檚 sensitive, inverted, or academically challenged. The bully culture starts from the teachers (not all of course) and many are struggling to fit in and thrive in the competitive environment. Unprofessional approach, no or lack of communication when it matters. Look elsewhere.
My son is in British school for last two years, great learning and great teachers.
BSM is the best school in the world!
Unqualified teachers, very poor education and unprofessional management
The teachers are unprofessional and unqualified both educationally and with their attitude and the teaching in BSM has never been worse. The teachers treat the children and parents in a very bad and unprofessional manner. The school management is also unprofessional. The information on their website is not related to the reality.
The school has the facilities and the teachers but when it comes to personal attention it lacks a touch. With the amount of fees that we pay, it clearly lacks a personal touch. The school is big and if your child is talented and brilliant they will enjoy it. For the average, not so academically smart or having any special talent, this place won't do much. Whilst other British Schools in Muscat are open to discount option(Including the newly opened ones) BSM don't give sibling discounts on the fees and are also not willing to offer any discount even during pandemic stricken times. We had to take cuts on salaries but school fees remained the same. But the school is good if you can bear the fees. For senior school children who are not super smart, be prepared to spend money on finding a tutor for on one-one tutoring lessons to get a good grade. An average child doesn't get much attention here !!
I have worked in different schools in the Uk and internationally and BSM stands out as a school that values each individual and supports children to become all that they can be.

I went British School Muscat for 5 years. It's a great school with funny teachers and I met all my best friends here! Top notch new facilities too. It's a shame my family eventually left the country, it's a great place to live.
