If I could give 0 stars, I would. I am a former employee of the Gulf English School, Qatar and the stories I have are unbelievable. First of all, staff are not 鈥榚xperienced鈥 as quoted on their website. The majority of staff leave throughout a year because the environment is so toxic. They employ newly qualified teachers to try and make the staff numbers. Staff constantly complain about the work and the children. As for being an international school, it isn鈥檛. It is a local school teaching a few expats for a ridiculous price. If you are not Qatari, you get treated differently to the Qatari children who are put on a pedestal due to fears of their parents retaliation if they find out their child is not getting the education they deserve or are paying for. I was an SEN teacher (whose class got shut down mid year to replace a teacher who left out of the blue), and children鈥檚 parents were told they must pay a 2000 riyal a term fee or be kicked out of school. The nepotism is insane, if you aren鈥檛 friends with the head or director, your job is always at stake with threats of being put on the next plane. It鈥檚 that bad that even the previous director of studies pulled his children out and willingly speaks about the terrible education and how bad the school is. They will block you on all social media accounts if you attempt to call them out. They are not disability friendly, even making children on crutches go up and down staircases multiple times a day. Even staff who have been injured have had no help, being made to be independent even when that hasn鈥檛 always been a possibility. False promises are given to everyone; staff, children and parents. It was rare to see smiles on any faces. Children who needed extreme intervention were just passed and moved onto the next school year for fear of the child being pulled from the school and therefore money being lost. Whilst working here, it was made law that employers must provide health insurance to their employees (this law was introduced for expats like myself). They found every loophole and secret to avoid doing this. They will break contract and not pay you accordingly. Often times, payments were incredibly late (once by 10 days) causing staff to have a number of issues and debts build up. These are just some of the issues. Do NOT work or send your child here as bullying from staff is outrageous. I have so much I could add. They also contact your employers after them asking you to remove reviews.

First of all, The school's rules are extremely old and it shouldn't even be called a "private school" their school is name by a private school but when you actually join the school and experience it there's no difference when you want to compare it to a public school I can tell you this because me myself I am a student studying at GES since pre-school and I can completely agree that teachers there can be extremely rude and will only think about what head teachers say about them and about their money. The school is very old style and there isn't even activities that new futuristic schools do. They give out detentions and c4s for NO REASON RANDOMLY and they sometimes even disagree to students from going to bathrooms which is actually forbidden BY LAW? As for the girls there way too much gossip and way too much drama. Every term they put on polls and questions on teams to make themselves like they care about students "mental heath and how they are feeling" when they don't even put any effort in trying to change a student's mood. They don't care how students are feeling how they are working on and if anything is going alright and if they got concerned they will try to help for literally a day then just ignore what is happening with the student. Either its bullying or rumors or a girl being uncomfortable in class they just don't care and try to make themselves caring (in front of parents and headteachers). Secondly the school uniform, please try to change the school uniform like are we going to jail or something?? And definitely not gonna forget not letting yr9 and above girls having nails on neither makeup like what type of rule is that if were actually in a private school? No teacher has no right of removing my makeup or my nails I choose what to wear and what to put on my face. As well as, the doors every 2 inches in corridors are we in a mental illness hospital?? Like let us walk like humans we need to walk and move parts of our bodies do you understand that we have to sit on your uncomfortable plastic chairs for a whole 6 hours day of learning and writing?? We need to move around and feel like we are at school not at a hospital?! From my experience I would never let my children enter GES. Thank you.

As a parent, very satisfied about the care, facilities and teaching methods. An excellent place for visual-learners. Learner-centered teaching, patient and supportive teachers, highly qualified teachers.

Worst school ever. The staff are very rude, and the students are even worse. The staff are just there for the money, and the education isn鈥檛 good. They don鈥檛 teach your children anything useful, and I feel like the school just wants to grab money in any way possible. Students are just there to show off, and not to learn. Staff are absolutely disgusting, and show favoritism towards students. If you want to go to a good school that actually teaches your kids, do not come to this school. If I could, I would give this school 0 stars. All the good teachers left the school, and they replaced the good teachers with 鈥渢eachers鈥 that don鈥檛 understand anything and that are extremely rude. The staff there think that they鈥檙e better than everyone. The school has lots of drama, and wouldn鈥檛 be a good place to learn. Even one teacher admitted to me that almost all of the teachers in this school are just there for the money. Take my advice, do NOT come to this school!!
