All in all, the school is a decent place to study for an IB diploma. I've graduated last summer after following their six-year bilingual MYP+DP program. Teachers generally have a nice attitude towards students are competent in their subject, and teach competently with varied materials. Especially the teachers in the higher years were very pleasant to get taught by and were supportive throughout the course. While the workload may be high at some stages, it most certainly helps with dealing with the higher workload that will be experienced in university. Sports facilities aren't great since there are just two indoor gyms in addition to a turf basketball cage outside. Also, a bummer for me was that they don't offer music lessons of any kind, while they do have plenty of equipment to facilitate this. However, the main problems in this school lie with the management. As other reviews suggested, there is indeed a problem with the occasional removal of year 10 students (especially those who are coping with some form of (mental) illness), because according to their own assessment the student in question wouldn't be able to successfully complete the Diploma Program, even though their year 10 grades are more than good enough to qualify for year 11. In turn, the management won't bother assisting the student and parents into exploring possible pathways to continue the student's schooling career. I've seen this happen to a person close to me and heard several similar stories through the grapevine. It's hard and unjust leadership from two or three people in the school's management. Another main problem that I鈥檝e encountered is the lack of diversity within the school. And not only in terms of race or ethnic background, but also diversity in cultural, spiritual or political beliefs. From my assessment, around 70% of students there are white, European, left-leaning and atheist, not at all representative of the 鈥渓earning through diversity鈥-motto that the school is aiming to portray. The hardest for me personally was that the school didn鈥檛 seem to put any effort into creating an environment in which it is normal for people to respect opinions and beliefs that are tangential to their own. As politically I stand quite far from what was mainstream and 鈥榓ccepted鈥 in the school, I had a very hard time feeling comfortable in expressing those views with my teachers or fellow students. Furthermore, while usually left unnoticed for most people, there does seem to be a small but substantial amount of racism and racial bias within the school. Without going into too much detail, there are some middle-aged people in management or as teachers who still live with some 20th century views on race and ethnic background. Being a white person, most of this I haven鈥檛 experienced first handedly, but by others鈥 accounts this has sometimes been apparent in ways such as the curriculums in Art and History which are almost exclusive to the works and perspectives of white people, asking race-related questions to people of color (e.g. in regards to their view Trump or Zwarte Piet), and even an instance where a student鈥檚 predicted grades were purposefully lowered due to reasons associated with their skin color. And if on the school鈥檚 website you might get the impression of it being very ethnically diverse; don鈥檛 be fooled, since the students in the pictures were reportedly hand-picked based on a preselected mix of ethnic appearances.

I mean school is school. I dont recommend using Google reviews to judge the school but to each their own. Its a demanding school and makes a good attempt at trying to use a different system then most schools which is cool. However it becomes very challenging and although it leads to universities later down the line, its a stressful journey with not every staff member there to help you. I believe its best to see for yourself because I think that (most of) the students here grow to be kind and overworked.

This school is diverse, as some teachers are nice, and some simply love handing out punishments, it's also the same with the kids, just read the other reviews...

I was having interviews at schools enjoying every one of them, kids going past, waving and smiling at me.. the teachers being extremely nice and welcoming, honestly lovely schools, until I had an interview here. When we first got in: At reception the lady was literally shouting on the phone really angrily which gave us a bad impression, then when she finished the phone call she glared at my mother and father like we were garbage or something then my mother politely asked when the interview would start and the women snapped back 鈥淚 don鈥檛 know. Just wait.鈥 It doesn鈥檛 sound rude on text but I鈥檓 reality she was like the snappiest women I鈥檝e ever met, it was horrible. Before I came here with both my parents, we were all really happy to be there to meet the teachers, but as soon as we met the lady I knew everything was going to go down hill. I鈥檝e got to be honest from the image of the school I hated it already, it gave me a bad feeling, and it was right. The school looks like a church/prison, now I laugh about its ugliness, it鈥檚 like that for: Prison: bullies Church: getting the rudeness out of them. Now you might be wondering why I hate that school when I haven鈥檛 even been? Well, when we were shown around the school the bell rang and lessons ended, I got lots of glares from other kids (obviously, they鈥檝e never seen me and were curious who could be going to their school) but then.. one girl walked passed me and purposely pushed me with her backpack and started laughing with her friends about it staring at me, I just smirked and rolled my eyes at them because I knew everyone already hated them, they just needed to be put in their place, so if I do go to this hell (I鈥檒l probably commit suicide) I鈥檒l show them whose really boss (at least I鈥檓 nice and I don鈥檛 bully, but if someone鈥檚 rude to me on a high level, sorry hunny I鈥檝e gotta come back at you on an even higher level (; ) ANYWAY! The point is, although I haven鈥檛 gone to this school to learn I can see that it鈥檚 a horrible place to be and not only the students are bullies but I can tell that also the teachers could be too, more proof from that? The teachers don鈥檛 take action in stopping the bullying, they even blame it on the victim! Read the other reviews to find out about that..

This is a review about Junior Campus Primary school which is the part of the international school. Junior Campus Primary school rejected my child because it doesnt come from a Dutch family. But later I heard from an insider that they accepted a child from a German family with both parents germans!. What is this? Discrimination? Bribery? Double standards? Is the skin of my child not enough white? I have no explanation, but presume that one of this reasons for sure.
