Harrow School London has been home to world leaders, poets and royalty. It has educated such inspirational characters as Winston Churchill, King Hussein of Jordan, Jawaharlal Nehru, Lord Byron and more recently actors Benedict Cumberbatch and Laurence Fox and singer songwriter James Blunt. If Harrow on the Hill as it is affectionately know, can be seen as the roots of the Harrow family tree, then its branches are now spreading the Harrow philosophy worldwide through its associated schools of Harrow Bangkok (1998), Harrow Beijing (2005), Harrow Hong Kong (2012) and Harrow Shanghai (2016). Harrow Beijing proudly shares Harrows鈥 core values, and as a school celebrates both its British heritage and its Chinese perspective in striving to cultivate 鈥淟eadership for a better world鈥. Setting Harrow Beijing apart from its competition are its unique strengths, its History and Traditions, its Holistic approach to Education, its outstanding Academic Achievements and its Close Personal Tutoring of the students in its care.

Maybe a 4 star if it鈥檚 not that expensive. The school is not like what the public imagines - there are a lot of things that are different, or have changed massively since it moved its main campus to Shunyi: School food quality is below average, this year in particular. The money spent on a 鈥渉ealthy school meal鈥 buys you greasy and oily food, and it鈥檚 included in the tuition fee meaning you pay for it either way. People looking for cultural diversity and an international community will be disappointed. Over 50% of the students are Chinese - but they are generally nice and easy-going, just not in the posh upper class private school way the public thinks. I studied here through year 9-13 so I don鈥檛 really know much about the lower school. The upper school鈥檚 quality of teaching has fluctuated throughout the years, but since GCSE and A-level relies heavily on self-study and self-motivation the issue isn鈥檛 as significant as it seems. Besides, the resources are all there. The teachers are generally good. They all have unique personalities, care about students and really put effort into making the school a better place. You may find some average, even mediocre teachers, but you don鈥檛 find irresponsible and horrible ones. The administration team sometimes get criticized by students but overall it鈥檚 not that bad. (I do want to point out that a music teacher screwed me over hard by recommending a dodgy institution programme for my gap year) Conclusion: It is good, just pricy - I personally think it鈥檚 overpriced (tuition fee even higher than some unis in UK), but it is one of the last few schools in mainland China that teaches A-level, and you will receive help from teachers even after you graduate if you ask for it. They may not be completely honest when advertising themselves, you may feel disappointed upon enrolling, it may not be the best international school to go to, but there鈥檚 no doubt that it is still a decent school. btw, I rdon鈥檛 know anybody that takes drugs here - the ones that did drugs left a long time ago.

Students consistently make fun and tease other people while the teachers watch as ehy do it. They鈥檙e students have spit on and hit many other children. I do not understand how the teachers tolerate this.

Was offered drugs on my first day there. Teachers don'y even teach, just stare at you while you watch videos.
