With most of the teachers being student teachers just graduated from school, and CIS providing insufficient impetus for them to stay longer, it is very hit or miss as to whether your child will actually have a teacher that is any good at all. The Ontario curriculum seems to be way way behind what I'm used to, and the repetitive nature of the curriculum year after year seems to only repeat the most useless and banal areas of the curriculum. The supporting technology of Google Classrooms is less than stellar, but relatively simple, yet many of the teachers simply can't learn to use the tools available at all. Their is no proper track and field, or any of the standard "Olympic" sports that I would usually expect to be available, and the play areas are almost completely barren and lack any facilities to support creative playing, climbing, etc. There are no natural spaces at all the school "garden" has been completely neglected. The highlight of the school has definitely been the music curriculum, and the new choir, and I certainly hope that they continue to fund these creative and interesting endeavors.
