How would you rate Berlin British School gGmbH?
Very wonderful and the administration and teachers are very nice thank you for everything
Over the last 4 years, the Berlin British School has become a second home for our children with friendships with other students and teachers. The team of teachers and the school's employees are always approachable, competent, friendly and solution-oriented when we had questions or problems. We can only say positive things about the teachers and kindergarten teachers. Of course there is always something that could be improved. But our children were very sad when they had to leave school due to moving abroad.
Our son attended the BBS from Grade 1 to 12 and he spent two years in the Kita. He greatly enjoyed his entire time throughout. The academic programme and the support our son received from the teachers was always first class. He particularly enjoyed his work in the English and the Sciences departments. The pastoral care side was also of great benefit. All students, of whatever nationality, were always treated similarly and with the same level of encouragement and support. Having a standard uniform probably helped ensure that. Our son has gone on to study in the UK. What more can we say. We would happily recommend both the German and the English sides of the BBS to anyone looking for a top-class education. Cornelia P. 2023
The school management is very good at giving a good image of the school, but unfortunately, this does not often reflect reality. From our experience, this is a school where it is worth going if you do not speak German and you stay in Berlin for just a couple of years. Or if you want your child to have grades that they will not get in other schools. It was a good school in the past but it is gradually deteriorating. The good teachers and highly capable students are gradually all leaving. The teachers have no preparation to deal with students who are highly capable. The focus is mainly on money, but if you are thinking of getting into a school for wealthy people this is not the case, since the fees depend on income and it can be very low and in some cases also free. Some parents do donations to the PTA which is the not-for-profit association that receives the money which is then given to the school.
That's one of the worse experience I have never had. After 3 days in this school, we were refused because the kid was not at the good level. They even could understand that he was disoriented after so many test and exams. The teacher were not well prepared to welcome new students. That's my view but there is a lack of professionalism in the way they deal with the new students. I will not recommend at all and I don't agree on the kids selection that they follow.
There are several issues that need to be addressed with the school's approach to new students. Firstly, there is a lack of professional approach that is evident when new students join the class. This can create confusion and anxiety for the new students and can be detrimental to their overall experience at the school. Furthermore, the school does not provide sufficient support for these new students. This can be in the form of academic support or even emotional support. The lack of support can make it difficult for new students to adapt to a new environment and can lead to feelings of isolation and alienation. Another issue with the school is the shortage of professional teachers. Without experienced and knowledgeable teachers, the students' learning experience is compromised. This can lead to a lack of understanding of the material, which can ultimately lead to poor academic performance. Overall, these issues need to be addressed in order to create a more positive and productive learning environment for the students. By providing a professional and supportive approach, and ensuring that there are enough experienced teachers, the school can improve the experience for all students.

While in Germany, I spent six to eight years in bbs. I remember that the teachers were all good. They were kind and well cared for. I had a lot of activities and had a lot more fun than my Korean school life. It would have been nice if I could have been there longer, but I'm sorry that it's been less than a few years.
